False information, false advertising, and poor quality ruined my stay at this accommodation Positive: The only positive thing I can say about Canstay BnB is that the apartment was very clean and the location was great. Negative: BEWARE OF CANSTAY BNB!! Part of the reason I booked a “2 BR Cosy Apartment” with Canstay BnB is that the accommodation had a nice balcony with 4 chairs and a view over a green area. When I arrived, I discovered that scaffolding surrounded 2 of the 3 windows in the apartment, as well as the sliding glass doors to the balcony, rendering the balcony unusable. In addition, the apartment was advertised as being at the Convention Center in Canberra. In fact, it was not there but across the way from it in a residential building – Glebe Park Residences, Unit 158. I contacted the firm by email to complain but they were absolutely intransigent to my complaints and refused outright to do anything to rectify the situation. I made my case to them several times but they refused to yield. I was asking for a total refund of $200 on a $912 booking. I also wrote them about the following issues: - sofa middle cushion has lost its cushioning, and therefore my bum hit rock bottom when I sat on it - the blinds in both bedrooms do not darken the rooms, and those in the main bedroom are broken - the back cushions on the dining room chairs consistently and frequently fall to the floor - total lack of any information regarding how to use the TV and (apparently) Amazon Prime streaming service. Was there Netflix or Youtube ? - The light in the en suite bathroom above the sink is out, so I had trouble seeing when shaving. It took 24 hours for them to respond to these issues (on the 3rd day of a 4-day stay), and since they couldn’t come when I was there, nothing was ever done about these things. Furthermore,the mattresses were not comfortable: the one in the lalrger BR was very firm and the one in the smaller one too soft, as well as too short for anyone more than 6 ft. tall. Although the “team” were always polite in correspondence, they were absolutely inflexible in action. In short, I wouldn’t stay there again even if someone else paid for it. If I could give zero stars I would.
